For the 2006-2007 school year, the Take a Subject to Work program focused on three new areas: Aerospace, IT and Web Development. Teachers from both the middle and high school levels participated in this year's program, focusing on the specific needs of their students and how to use the information learned during the on-site visits to create a bridge between middle and high school curriculum.

This year's business partners were Lockheed Martin, UCG and HZDG. Lockheed Martin hosted the Aerospace and IT teachers, and UCG and HZDG worked together with the web design and development group. Teachers spent three days on-site learning about real-world applications of their area of expertise and participating in activities such as client meetings, hands-on discussions and Q&A, and employee training, leading to an enhanced understanding of how their classroom subject matter is used in real-world applications.

The teachers have developed new lesson plans and performance tasks that are being delivered in the classroom in the fall of 2006 and spring of 2007.
