In just 720 school days, an incoming freshman becomes a high school graduate.
The 720 program focuses 9th grade students on the 720 days of high school and how three things -- achievement, online identity, and basic financial acumen -- will impact future success. MCBRE is partnering with Junior Achievement to recruit volunteers from the business community to speak to 9th grade classes about these three critical issues and, more generally, the importance of performance in high school for future success in college or the workplace.
MCBRE needs speakers like you to visit Montgomery County public high schools, starting October 2008. With a nominal time commitment, you can help change students' lives by arming them with the information they need to make smart decisions about the future.
If you are interested in volunteering, please register below. To prepare as a speaker, it is essential to read over and print the Presentation PowerPoint, which guides you through the main points to emphasize. The Presentation PowerPoint is a training tool for speakers and should not be shared with students. Included in the zip file below are handouts that are referenced in the Presentation PowerPoint - you can choose the handouts you’d like to use. Finally, the FAQ section provides more information and helpful hints for your speaking engagement.
